Autumn/Winter 2013 Hair Trends
I know that I have preached curls in previous articles but there is a mini movement going on right now which I think will become a hair revolution by this autumn/winter. Of course curls are nothing new, the last 2 years have been awash with waves but this is an updated trend given a new identity for autumn/ winter 2013.
Bold and gold
Waved hair brushed out hair which has been combed and gripped to the top of the head to create sleekness before a storm of raging waves, this look emulates a cool 1920s art style. For those graced with natural fire golden red hair colour you are blessed as this texture is exaggerated on redheads and blondes, it doesn’t mean to say that staying mainly brunette won’t work, if you want to show more texture in the waves ask your hairdressers to add some slightly lighter tones using a highlighting technique or do as I have been doing at Bath Street Salon in Frome, go for a balayage ombre highlighting technique to create soft tones toward the bottom of your hair length, keep not too much lighter than your natural hair colour for a more sophisticated look.
On a personal note
Got a busy time ahead, off to Henley Rewind festival this weekend so the salon in Frome will be minus me on Saturday but will still be open, on Monday however I will be closed but back behind the chair again on Tuesday. Got some photo shoots lined up in September with a photographer who is a gem to work with, not sure what we are doing just waiting for the brief. Still searching for an additional range of hair and possibly skincare products for the salon. I have been open for five weeks and it’s been a great start so a big thank you to everyone who has been in so far.
